Working with Sudanese refugees I think www.refunite.org is an interesting tool - it is a search engine for refugees to connect.
Refugees United's goal is to help refugees locate lost family via a seacrh engine on www.refunite.org in order to allow the refugees direct access to each other. Exactly what’s needed in a situation like the one most refugees find themselves in: No org. employees to contact in a foreign country, no difficult forms to fill in and no technical obstacles to these human beings who are most often illiterate and worn out.

Hi Christopher,
I do think it's an interesting tool - and I will try to promote in among colleagues in northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. Through this blog it has already automatically been listed on www.aidworkers.net, which is another execellent tool to communicate to a very big crowd of aid workers etc. I think you should also contact them.
Best Greetings Pernille

Dear Pernille,
As co-founder of Refugees United, I am delighted to see our efforts have begun to warrant the attention we believe it deserves. Indeed, www.refunite.org is a wonderful tool that litterally reconnects refugees at the click of a mouse. Now, our mission is to make sure the world hears about us, and indeed, that the world of aid workers know exactly who we are, what we do and why we do it. I would like to thank you for aiding us in this quest by blogging about us and hopefully letting people around you know of our existence.
Please feel free to contact me for any questions or a quick hello!
Sincerely,
Christopher Mikkelsen

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that the URL in the first sentence of your post contains an error: reunite rather than refunite. The URL is valid but links readers to the International Child Abduction Centre instead.
